Oklahoma School for the Deaf's Kevin Smith recorded the longest rushing play in Great Plains (8 Man) this season in his game against Windsor Hills Baptist last week. Smith ran for 79 yards on the play and finished with 146 on the day as his team lost to the Bulldogs.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf moved up to 16 from 90 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Firebirds were able to make move up by falling to Oneida Nation 58-16.
Oklahoma School for the Deaf's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 217 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Sean Thomas Sledd has 13 catches for 179 yards. Smith also leads the league in rushing with 997 yards.
Oklahoma School for the Deaf's Smith is a mere three yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in Great Plains (8 Man) this week will be when Missouri School for the Deaf takes on Wisconsin School for the Deaf. The Eagles are in second place, while the Firebirds are in fourth place.
Wisconsin School for the Deaf was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after falling to the Thunderhawks. The Firebirds came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 90 last week.
