The Bonham Warriors won the last time they faced the Whitewright Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. The stars were shining brightly for Bonham in a 48-34 victory over Whitewright. Given Bonham's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while Whitewright is ranked 1342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bonham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Ross , who scored six points along with nine blocks. Those nine blocks set a new season-high mark for him. DJ Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Bonham's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Whitewright, they bumped their record down to 5-7 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonham will be home for the holidays to greet Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Trinity Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. Whitewright will be home for the holidays to greet Tom Bean at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tom Bean focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
