The Baker Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the St. Paul's Episcopal Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Baker is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Baker took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mary G. Montgomery, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Baker sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-13 victory over Mary G. Montgomery on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted against the Vikings since April 11, 2023.
Katlyn Cone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and 12 unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Paul's Episcopal). Everything went their way against Vigor on Thursday as St. Paul's Episcopal made off with a 25-5 victory. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Baker's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for St. Paul's Episcopal, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Everything went Baker's way against St. Paul's Episcopal when the teams last played last Friday, as Baker made off with an 8-0 win. Does Baker have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Paul's Episcopal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
