Zion Prep Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while King's Christian Academy is ranked 125th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead King's Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Earl Edmonds, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Diallo Long was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 21-10 record this season. As for King's Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Zion Prep Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shabach Christian Academy Blue at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Shabach Christian Academy Blue has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for King's Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Washington Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
