After a string of six wins, the Sulligent Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost to Marion County at home by a decisive 75-60 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Marion County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joe Aldridge, who scored 20 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The matchup was Aldridge's 20th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vondrell Swanigan, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Sulligent's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Marion County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sulligent will challenge South Lamar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marion County, they will head out on the road to face off against Brilliant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brilliant is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
