After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Minerva, the Beaver Beavers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oak Glen 70-43 on the road. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Beaver had established a 23 point advantage.
Despite the loss, Oak Glen saw an underclassman step up: A J Ramgeet scored 16 points. Preston Cole was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Beaver has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Oak Glen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Harrison Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Beavers in Ohio (the Huskies are ranked 137th, while the Beavers are ranked 413th). As for Oak Glen, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Golden Bears a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
