The El Camino Eagles fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Dixon by a score of 60-48 on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for El Camino, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Justin Watts was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrious Perry, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
El Camino has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Dixon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
El Camino's road trip will continue as they head out to face East Union at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. Dixon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Esparto at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Esparto is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
