It was a good run, but the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar Valley.
Maple Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Messick, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Brown, who scored ten points.
Maple Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cedar Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Maple Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Valley, they will be playing at home against Wasatch at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wasatch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
