After flying high against the Cordell Blue Devils last Tuesday, the Carnegie Wildcats came back down to earth. Carnegie fell to Hinton 56-50. Carnegie was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hinton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Carnegie lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jalen Wallace. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Paden Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Carnegie's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4. As for Hinton, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Carnegie will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Shattuck at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Hinton, they will head out on the road to square off against Apache at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
