The Glenbard East Rams will head out on the road to take on the Naperville North Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Glenbard East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Naperville North will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Glenbard East extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Rams put the hurt on Elgin with a sharp 23-13 victory. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Carson Pignato was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Pignato was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Josh Ziemer was a standout: he got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Adam White also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Glenbard East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .575. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Naperville North narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Waubonsie Valley 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.
Naperville North also got a great performance from Cohen Jeppsen as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The Huskies are 4-1 when Jeppsen allows two or fewer earned runs, but 9-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Lawton Close was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Steele, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Glenbard East's record now sits at 15-9-1. As for Naperville North, their record is now 13-11.
Glenbard East skirted past Naperville North 7-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
