Basketball Recap: Bacon County Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Makayla Thomas and Marnay'jah Reynolds

Bacon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thomasville Bulldogs.

Despite the defeat, Bacon County had strong showings from Marnay'Jah Reynolds, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 22 points, and Makayla Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 boards and nine blocks. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Thomasville found their leader in freshman Harmony Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 boards. Bryant also set a new season-high mark in blocks with three. Jaleah Brown was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Bacon County's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Thomasville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Bacon County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 39-20 win against Jeff Davis on the 10th. As for Thomasville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-53 defeat against Brantley County on the 10th.
