St. John Paul II entered their tilt with Madison County on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 10-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on March 3rd.

Mason Avant and Javi Santana made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Avant pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Santana struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, Avant scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Santana went 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI Santana has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Cantella, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

St. John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Madison County, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, St. John Paul II will square off against Maclay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison County, they will take on Godby at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Godby has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.54 runs per game on average), something Madison County will no doubt try to take advantage of.
