Having just played yesterday, the Northfield Nighthawks will jump right back in to play the Monarch Coyotes  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
 Northfield is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against Mountain Vista  on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northfield came up short against  Mountain Vista, falling  63-40. The Nighthawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  38-15.
 Northfield might have lost, but man,  Aliyah Heron was a machine:  she  went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points plus eight  rebounds and four  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Alena Vondracek, who  scored five points.
 Even though they lost, Northfield  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 11  offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in ten consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Meanwhile, Monarch had to start their season on the road  on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were  outmatched by Pine Creek on the road  and fell  80-37.
 Despite the  defeat, Monarch saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Sienna Williams  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and 11  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Charlotte Weiss, who  posted eight points along with five  assists.
 Northfield was taken down by Monarch 67-17 when the teams last played  back in December of 2021. Can Northfield avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
