Basketball Recap: Doobensky Moise Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Leonard

Boynton Beach lost to Leonard back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Boynton Beach Tigers enjoyed a cozy 67-48 win over the Leonard Lancers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Boynton Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Doobensky Moise, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Moise a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Marvis Permenter, who went 6 for 13 en route to 16 points and six boards.

Boynton Beach smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Leonard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Reed, who posted 17 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 35.4% of Leonard's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeff Jean, who put up seven points and five boards.

Boynton Beach has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Leonard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Boynton Beach has already played their next matchup, a 74-65 defeat against Lake Worth Christian on the 28th. As for Leonard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-45 loss against Dr. Joaquin Garcia on the 28th.
