The Oasis Christian Lions will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Geneva Classical Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. on October 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Oasis Christian is ranked 23rd, while Geneva Classical Academy is ranked 22nd).
Last Friday, Oasis Christian was fully in charge, breezing past St. John Lutheran 66-30 on the road.
CJ Goldwire continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 288 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. Goldwire was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Branning, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Oasis Christian's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last game, Geneva Classical Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Foundation Christian Academy on Friday. Geneva Classical Academy walked away with a 36-28 victory over Foundation Christian Academy. The win was some much needed relief for Geneva Classical Academy as it spelled an end to theirfour-game losing streak.
Geneva Classical Academy found their leader in underclassman Bennett Bayhan, who rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 142 yards and a touchdown. Bayhan is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Poe Stirk got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Oasis Christian to 4-4 and Geneva Classical Academy to 2-5.
