5A District 15 recap October 22, 2013
Immokalee added to the longest winning streak in 5A District 15 this week by beating Palmetto Ridge, 41-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Lely took down Golden Gate 47-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Immokalee's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Lee Gallegos threw for 18 and 19 touchdowns and J.C. Jackson had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Louinelson Celian chipped in 112 yards. Bryce Godwin helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Celian provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Richard Dombroski's team beat the Bears. He completed 7 passes for 104 yards and also ran for 112 yards. Celian's favorite target this week was Jackson, who caught 4 passes for 98 yards.
Gallegos put up the best numbers through the air as the Indians beat Palmetto Ridge.
Immokalee's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Indians feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Celian has thrown for 1,072 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Jackson has 22 catches for 719 yards. Celian also leads the league in rushing with 453 yards.
The Trojans made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,231 from 5,960. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 47-7 victory over the Titans last week.
