Oakes really took it to Napoleon for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-26 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Oakes, who have now won three matchups by 31 points or more so far this season.
Oakes' win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Molly Sitzler, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Sitzler continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Jackson, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Oakes pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Napoleon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Oakes will be playing in front of their home fans against Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Dakota (Linton/Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock is ranked 42nd, while Oakes is ranked 31st). Napoleon will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Medina at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
