Even though the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the La Salle Lancers still came out on top. La Salle walked away with a 63-55 victory over the Eagles. That's another feather in the cap for La Salle, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Ryan Hajjar was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Omar Gonzalez, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Verbum Dei Jesuit still got an impressive performance from Harper Whitman, who scored 27 points. Ryan Figueroa was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
La Salle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, they dropped their record down to 13-15 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
La Salle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Verbum Dei Jesuit also has no future games currently scheduled.
