After a string of four wins, the Meade Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 78-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broadneck. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Josh Holmes and Keon Scott certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Holmes almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds, while Scott scored 20 points along with five assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holmes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashton Turman, who scored 11 points.
Meade's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Broadneck, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meade will take on the at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Chesapeake Science Point will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Mustangs are ranked 74th). As for Broadneck, they and the Falcons will face off at 12:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
