Basketball Recap: Fred Motley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Oak Forest Academy

Rossville Christian Academy won against St. Benedict at Auburndale last Tuesday with 67 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Rossville Christian Academy Wolves snuck past the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets with a 67-61 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 84th in Tennessee, while the Yellowjackets are ranked eighth in Louisiana).

Rossville Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Fred Motley out in front who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Motley has posted since back in November. Another player making a difference was Zach Portwood, who posted 25 points.

Rossville Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points per game. As for Oak Forest Academy, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2.

Rossville Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-49 victory against Greenville Christian on the 21st. As for Oak Forest Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-46 win against Humphreys County on the 21st.
