The St. David Tigers stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Valley Union 60-22 at home. The win was nothing new for St. David as they're now sitting on four straight.
Mayla Trejo was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Anissa Jacquez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
St. David's win bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Valley Union, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-15.
St. David won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Duncan at 5:30 p.m. on February 3rd. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Duncan: 24.4, St. David: 28.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Valley Union, they will head out on the road to square off against Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Christian's defense has only allowed 23.1 points per game this season, so Valley Union's offense will have their work cut out for them.
