The Chester Clippers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 26-20 W over Bayard Rustin on Saturday. Chester is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Chester was led to victory by Jalen Harris and Larry Mcdaniel. Harris threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns, while Mcdaniel rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Daron Harris got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Chester's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 11-2 Downingtown West and 8-4 Phoenixville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.1% over those games). As for Bayard Rustin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
Chester's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Strath Haven at 1:00 p.m. on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Strath Haven is ranked 43rd, while Chester is ranked 35th). Bayard Rustin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
