Manchester Valley has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Liberty Lions at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, it was close, but Manchester Valley sidestepped Winters Mill for a 54-51 victory.
Manchester Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Strohman, who scored 16 points. The game was Strohman's third in a row with at least ten points. William Cuneo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Liberty scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Westminster on the road to the tune of 71-34. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Liberty has managed all season.
Manchester Valley's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for Liberty, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Manchester Valley was taken down by Liberty 85-44 when the teams last played back in January. Can Manchester Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
