The Perry Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 67-51 bruising from Prairie City-Monroe. Perry lost against Prairie City-Monroe in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-46 score last time.
Drake Levan and Geren Kenney certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Levan scored 18 points along with nine rebounds, while Kenney scored 11 points along with three steals. The match was Kenney's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Mahler, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Perry were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Perry's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Prairie City-Monroe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3.
Perry will head out on the road to face off against Saydel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Prairie City-Monroe will be home for the holidays to greet Roland-Story at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Roland-Story knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Prairie City-Monroe likes a good challenge.
