Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Canterbury Crusaders walked away with it. They secured a 19-14 W over The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Friday. The victory was just what Canterbury needed coming off of a 42-0 defeat in their prior game.
Canterbury was led to victory by Jordan Battle and Roman Wilder. Battle rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Wilder rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Battle was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Canterbury is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for The Classical Academy of Sarasota, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Canterbury will square off against Real Life Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Real Life Christian Academy is ranked 13th, while Canterbury is ranked 18th). The Classical Academy of Sarasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
