Estacado is 9-1 against Big Spring since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Estacado Matadors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Big Spring Steers at 6:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Estacado's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Big Spring has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
In what's become a running theme this season, Estacado gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Sweetwater with a sharp 42-18 victory. Given Estacado's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Sweetwater is ranked 745th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Big Spring lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were beaten by Levelland 93-4. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Big Spring has scored all season.
Estacado has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. As for Big Spring, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.
