The Cedarcrest Red Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Bellevue Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Cedarcrest's offense. They came up short against Liberty on Wednesday, falling 9-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Red Wolves were not able to get on the board.
Josie Fiala was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double.
While Bellevue didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Highline on Friday. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.
Silvia Sohn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Carmen Aguado-Scheyer was a standout: she fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Mia Kelley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Bellevue lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Cedarcrest dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bellevue, their record is now 7-1.
Everything went Cedarcrest's way against Bellevue in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Cedarcrest made off with a 22-0 victory. Do the Red Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
