Corona del Mar extended the longest winning streak in Pacific Coast this week by beating Woodbridge, 33-16. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Irvine moved up to 452 from 487 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vaqueros were able to make move up by besting Northwood 21-18.
Corona del Mar's dynamic duo of Cayman Carter and Troy Reese proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carter threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns and Reese had 182 yards receiving. Cole Martin helped Corona del Mar's passing attack out by catching four balls for 20 yards.
Blake Crandall was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 113 yards on 18 carries as Beckman topped Woodbridge. Devin Aguilar also contributed to the rushing game with 71 yards on the ground.
The Sea Kings' Carter and Reese have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Pacific Coast in both passing and receiving yards. Carter has thrown for 1394 yards this season, while Reese, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 36 catches for 560 yards. Austin DeFreitas from Rick Gibson's team leads the league in rushing with 1516 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Irvine takes on the Warriors. Erik Terry's team is in second place, while Woodbridge is in third place.
The Vaqueros and the Timberwolves played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Vaqueros eventually emerging with a 21-18 victory.
