It was a good run, but the Portage Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Windber. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Portage has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Portage still got an impressive performance from Trae Kargo, who scored 15 points. Kargo is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Gouse, who scored nine points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Grady Klosky, who scored 23 points for Windber. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Klosky has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tanner Barkley, who scored 13 points.
Portage's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Windber, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Portage will take on Windber at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Portage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
