The King Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 47-39 to Miller. King has not had much luck with Miller recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Leading Miller to victory were George Simmons and Corey Holmes. Simmons scored 15 points, while Holmes scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Holmes has scored at least 25% of Miller's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Zamora, who scored four points.
King has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Miller, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
King will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Sinton at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. Miller will be home for the holidays to greet Corpus Christi Moody at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Corpus Christi Moody has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
