Bucklin is 10-0 against Pawnee Heights since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bucklin Red Aces will be home for the holidays to greet the Pawnee Heights Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bucklin earned a 49-37 win over Pretty Prairie. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bucklin.
Bucklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydnie Jones, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least 25% of Bucklin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Evans, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Pawnee Heights came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Minneola with points to spare, taking the game 39-24.
Bucklin's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pawnee Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Bucklin against Pawnee Heights when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 60-27 victory. Does Bucklin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pawnee Heights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
