The Hatton Hornets will be taking part in a tournament against the Waterloo Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hatton took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Deshler by a score of 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Brianna Oliver spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.

Meanwhile, Waterloo came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Belmont on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Georgiana Kavich made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sarah Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Maddie Morris also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
