Regents is 10-0 against Blue Ridge Christian since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Regents Lions will be playing at home against the Blue Ridge Christian Bears at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Regents sitting on three straight wins and Blue Ridge Christian on five.
Regents stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by United Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 62-35. Given Regents' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while United Christian Academy is ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Regents' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morris Hoffman, who scored 17 points along with six steals. Hoffman is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Josh Morales, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, even though Ridgeview Christian scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Blue Ridge Christian still came out on top. Blue Ridge Christian secured a 64-58 W over Ridgeview Christian.
Regents pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Regents beat Blue Ridge Christian 51-38 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Regents repeat their success, or does Blue Ridge Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
