The Weston Trojans lost against the Stamford Black Knights back in December of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Weston suffered a tough 75-53 loss at the hands of Stamford. While losing is never fun, Weston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Stamford is ranked 27th).
Stamford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ejai Presley led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for him. Damar Taylor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Weston and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Stamford, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weston's road trip will continue as they head out to face Masuk at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Stamford will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against New Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
