The Easley Green Wave sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  victory over the Mauldin Mavericks  on Friday. That's two games straight that the Green Wave have won by  just one  run.

  Jalyn McGee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.
The  win made it two in a row for Easley and  bumps their season record up to 3-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Mauldin, their loss was  their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Coming up, Easley will venture away from home to  square off against Hillcrest  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Hillcrest will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  matchup than the last. As for Mauldin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenville  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
