The Whitmire Wolverines suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by McCormick on the road and fell 59-28. Whitmire has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Whitmire saw an underclassman step up: Brooklynn Babb scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Babb scored 15 or more points. Kaileigh Womack was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Whitmire's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for McCormick, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitmire will take on Ware Shoals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCormick, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st.
