Baseball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Christian Patriots

For the second straight game, University City will face off against Christian. The Centurions will head out on the road to face off against the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University City's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

University City's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Christian. That seven run margin sets a new team best for the Centurions this season.

AJ Curry made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ethan Antenore was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Josh Kaplan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

University City's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 12-8. As for Christian, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-9.
