The First Academy Royals will square off against the Lyman Greyhounds at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lyman took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on The First Academy, who comes in off a win.
The First Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Royals with their most commanding win of the season.
Abby Edwards looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Sulexy Falcon was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Nola-Blair Simmons was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
The First Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, Lyman came up short against Boone on Friday, falling 9-2.
Kira Gold made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Lyman has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. The First Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. The First Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lyman struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went The First Academy's way against Lyman in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as The First Academy made off with a 10-0 win. Will The First Academy repeat their success, or does Lyman has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
