The Broughton Capitals will challenge the Rolesville Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Broughton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Broughton will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Garner, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Broughton came out on top in a nail-biter against Garner on Thursday, sneaking past 7-5.

Mason Hawkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Weston Rhem, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Rolesville didn't have quite enough to beat Athens Drive on Saturday and fell 5-4. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tyler Vincent was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Carter DeSilva was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Quintero, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Rolesville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Broughton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Broughton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rolesville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Broughton beat Rolesville 6-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Broughton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rolesville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
