Baseball Recap: The Villages Charter Gets the Win

While The Villages Charter's win against Citrus wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Buffalo had just enough and edged out the Hurricanes 7-6 on Thursday. The Buffalo haven't had any issues with the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The Villages Charter let Torin Foley and Lincoln Gagne run wild. Foley went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Gagne scored two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, Gagne posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcello Cortale, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

The Villages Charter's record now sits at 20-5. As for Citrus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

The Villages Charter and Citrus are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Buffalo will face off against Umatilla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (The Villages Charter 2.4, the Bulldogs 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Citrus, they will square off against Dunnellon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
