The St. Edward Beavers lost against the Santee Warriors back in January of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. St. Edward was outmatched by Santee at home and fell 80-30. St. Edward was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-17.
Despite the loss, St. Edward still got an impressive performance from Anthony Reader, who scored 16 points. Reader scored a full 53.3% of St. Edward's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
This is the second loss in a row for St. Edward and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Santee, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Edward won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against High Plains on January 6th. As for Santee, they will head out on the road to face off against Osceola at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
