The Purdue Polytechnic Techies will be home for the holidays to greet the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Purdue Polytechnic will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Tuesday, Purdue Polytechnic had just enough and edged Tindley out 46-44. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Purdue Polytechnic has scored all year.
Purdue Polytechnic had a senior duo take command as Kaleb Tate scored 17 points and Antwan Dorsett scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Tate scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Johnson, who scored six points.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat University 86-57 at home. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reis Butcher, who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Evan Haywood, who scored 17 points.
Purdue Polytechnic's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
