The East Lee County Jaguars were the 59-52 winner over the Island Coast Gators when they last played one another back in November of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. East Lee County was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 52-51 to Island Coast. That's two games in a row now that East Lee County has lost by exactly a single point.
It was another big night for Izaiah Bacchus, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds for Island Coast. Bacchus is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Roanin Solis-Valdez, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
East Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Island Coast, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.
East Lee County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gateway at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Gateway is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Island Coast, they will be playing at home against North Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Fort Myers has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
