The Desert Pines Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of El Camino. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Desert Pines came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 47th in Nevada, while El Camino is ranked 237th in California).
El Camino got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Boone out in front who scored 17 points. Logan Ardent was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Desert Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for El Camino, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Desert Pines will be playing at home against Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mojave's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. El Camino will be staying on the road on January 5, 2024 to face off against Oceanside at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
