The Warren Central Warriors were the 54-42 winner over the West Lafayette Red Devils when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Warren Central took a 58-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Lafayette. Warren Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teleah Davidson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Denell Jacobs, who scored 17 points along with two blocks.
West Lafayette had a senior duo take command as Adrianne Tolen scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals and Sarah Werth scored 19 points. Tolen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Molly Andrew, who scored 13 points.
Warren Central's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for West Lafayette, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greensburg at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Greensburg is ranked 29th, while Warren Central is ranked 40th). As for West Lafayette, they will head out on the road to take on Lafayette Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
