Hondo is 3-0 against Dilley since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hondo Owls will be playing at home against the Dilley Wolves at 6:15 p.m. Hopefully Hondo is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dilley in Texas (Hondo is ranked 685th, while Dilley is ranked 1547th).
Last Friday, Hondo was able to grind out a solid victory over Natalia, taking the game 48-39. The victory was just what Hondo needed coming off of a 69-39 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Dilley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 18th straight loss. They were dealt a 65-16 loss at the hands of Crystal City. Dilley has struggled against Crystal City recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Hondo is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Dilley, they dropped their record down to 2-24 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Hondo against Dilley in their previous meeting on January 9th as the team secured a 54-10 win. Does Hondo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dilley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
