The Oakwood Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 45-22 walloping at the hands of Lexington. Oakwood was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lexington apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Oakwood's loss came despite strong showings from Gracie Hanner and Nikita Taylor. Hanner scored eight points, while Taylor scored four points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hanner has scored all season.
Oakwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Lexington, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Armstrong the next time they take the court. Oakwood will head out to face Armstrong at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lexington will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
