MaxPreps is pleased to announce that the
Upper St. Clair Panthers have officially been named to the 11th Annual MaxPreps Soccer Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its fifth year honoring girls soccer.
This is one of the most prestigious team awards in all of high school sports and it is an exclusive honor reserved for the top 100 teams nationwide. In order to be eligible, a team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the MaxPreps National Rankings. For soccer, only 20 of the country's best are invited and with nearly 34,000 competing varsity teams. This puts the Panthers ahead of 99.9 percent of their opponents!
Upper St. Clair earned its way to the state finals after after beating two previously undefeated teams in back-to-back matches. The Panthers took revenge for their WPIAL championship loss and handed Norwin with its first loss (2-1) in the semi-state game.

On Nov. 21 the Panthers defeated previously unbeaten Central Bucks East, 2-1, at Hersheypark Stadium and claimed their first PIAA title in school history.
The Panthers completed their season 20-2-1, ranked No. 33 in the nation, No. 4 in Pennsylvania and No. 1 in Class AAA. The team was also name WPIAL Class AAA Section 5 champions with a 10-0 Section 5 record.
These incredible season achievements have earned the Upper St. Clair Panthers an invitation to the 11th Annual Tour of Champions.
Please join us as we celebrate with the Panthers soccer team, head coach Dave Gray, students and fans on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. during halftime of the boys basketball game in the gym.
