This season hasn't been kind to the Continental Pirates, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 57-40 bruising from Antwerp on Saturday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Continental in their matchups with Antwerp: they've now lost six in a row.
Antwerp was led to victory by Landon Brewer and Zaine McMichael. Brewer scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while McMichael scored 23 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least 25% of Antwerp's points. Another player making a difference was Camden Fuller, who scored two points.
Continental's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Antwerp, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Continental will head out on the road to face off against St. John's at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John's presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Continental in Ohio (St. John's is ranked 256th, while Continental is ranked 799th). Antwerp will be home for the holidays to greet North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Saturday.
