After four games on the road, Booker is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the North Port Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Booker knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully North Port likes a good challenge.
Booker posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 71-23 victory over DeSoto County on the road. Given Booker's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while DeSoto County is ranked 760th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Booker had a senior duo take command as Jovan Palavra scored 14 points and Jamareon Ruffin scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, North Port had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Port Charlotte with a sharp 62-41 win on Tuesday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point North Port had established a 20 point advantage.
Booker is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for North Port, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Booker came up short against North Port in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 45-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Port's Brennen Ingle, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Now that Booker knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
